  • A brief description of the book:

Our ancestors left behind a heritage we had regrettably failed to count or survey. Their manuscripts are spread all over the world libraries. People pay attention to these manuscripts and tried hard to possess them; and further passed them to generation after generation. Private libraries started to emerge at home, then public libraries are on the rise. Upon emergence of printing era, the significance of manuscripts started to surface. Indexing process initiated. Surprisingly enough, a large number of our heritage treasures had leaked into International Western Libraries and the like. Among the most important libraries are As-Sulaymaniyah Library affiliated to Sultan Suleiman Al-Qanouni, the greatest sultan in the Ottoman Empire. It is not a secret for those having proper insight and straightforward intellect that indexing the heritage is the main key to open all closed doors and the kick-start of facilitating its absolute difficulties. This process had required tremendous time and effort. This work started with reliance upon the Al-Humaidi Notebook of As-Sulaymaniyah Manuscripts since it is the figure accredited in the As-Sulaymaniyah Library in general, in the past and present. To make it more easy for researchers, an E-index has been set up where general information about each and every manuscript is provided. Also, pictures reflecting the beginnings and ends of the manuscripts are afforded – inclusive of art paints. This is in fact unprecedented work. An alphabetical index has also been set up to reflect the names of manuscripts. Another has been set up for the authors. Accordingly, searching for a manuscript would not be easier than this. After all, the index author has configured the names of authors and their parents as well as translation for a large number of them. Comments have also been made in order to spread the benefit such as notes for other copies of the manuscript, additions introduced by novel people and affiliation of manuscripts to other fake people. This is in addition to the notes referring to important manuscripts – particularly those in hand writing made by its authors or recently written down. As a matter of fact, the index is similar to a well-planned formation. May ALLAH help us bring these treasures into light.
