  • A brief description of the book:

Libraries of US Museums and Universities are replete with our magnificent Arabic and Islamic heritage and manuscripts. Several studies had been conducted with the aim to identify and define the contents of these libraries. Nevertheless, indexes of these libraries had been kept unidentified and unknown for a large number of investigators and researchers. The reason lurking behind that is that these indexes are not reached to Arab Countries. Among the most important manuscript treasures in the United States is the Treasure of Princeton University located in New Jersey State as it hosts an approximately ten thousands Arabic Manuscripts. The University of Princeton has issued three indexes describing the Arabic Manuscripts at its possession effective as of 1900 up to 1983. They are as follows: Index of Manuscripts of Gareth Group: This index is prepared by Philip Hata, Nabeeh Amin Fares, and Boutrous Abdul Malik. It was printed in the American Print House in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1938. Index of Manuscripts of Yahoo Department: It is prepared by Rodolf Mach; and printed out in University Print, New Jersey, in 1977 Index of Manuscripts of New Chain: It is prepared by Rodolf Mach and printed out in University Print, New Jersey, in 1978 Index of Un-Indexed Manuscripts in Princeton University: It is prepared by Rodolf Mach; and printed in the University Print, New Jersey, in 1987. Corrections which included the manuscripts previously un-indexed, covered what had been acquired by the Library up to 1995 thru purchase or donation; as well as those neglected to be indexed by other department in the University. Accordingly, these three indexes had been Arabized alongside with the New Chain and Corrections; and were compiled in a one set – inclusive of indexing of our Arabic and Islamic treasures. Now, Suqaiyfat Al-Safa Academic Organization may celebrate and announce good news to the Islamic Nation as these indexes of Arabic and Islamic Manuscripts are available for researchers and those concerned with this matter to derive the benefit and take the fruit. May ALLAH help us shake off those dust and sand of these invaluable treasures! render them available at the hands of scholars and scientists like; and help other libraries do the same.
